About the Artist
My name is Jennifer Perkins. I am a high school art teacher and working, traveling artist based in Colorado. I find my inspiration through my travels! Most of the year you will find me living out of the back of my truck exploring the rugged and beautiful landscape of North America. Over the past few years I have traveled to Washington state, Oregon, California, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, and Alberta, Canada. I enjoy backpacking, hiking, paddling, and mountain biking. I like to share my experiences through my art. When you revisit a place you've visited through art making, it helps you relive the experience in a way you do not get while looking at a photograph...you remember the smell of the rain and the spring grass, the sound of the wind blowing through the pines trees, the buzzing of an insect warming itself in the sun. Making art based on your real life experiences activates a part of your memory that remains dormant after the experience. I use my art as a way to keep my memories alive of these amazing, and unfortunately, disappearing places I've had the fortune to see. I hope to help my patrons experience these places as well! Thank you for visiting my site!
