I'll have six pieces in the Louisville Art Association 38th Annual National Juried 2023 Fine Art Show. One of my pieces is part of the juried exhibit. The other five pieces will be for sale.
The opening reception is on September 1st from 6-8 P.M. The gallery will then be open for the following week. More information can be found here. I'm so grateful to be connecting with local artists and patrons in my new town!

Finally opened up my print shop! I was thinking about art and access to fine art. I feel like when a normal person walks into a gallery and they see the price tag on original artwork they can't afford, it detracts from their ability to enjoy and appreciate it. I feel like everyone should be able to enjoy beauty and artwork and should be able to enjoy it in their home or office. So I sat down this week and ordered prints of all my paintings and my landscape photos. I'm focusing on black and white landscapes because I very much enjoy the way the contrast of black and white really punctuates the vastness of the scene in front of you. My prints are sold through my Etsy shop. All of my prints are on museum quality paper or photo paper. There are options for framed, ready to hang, or just the print so you can select your own frame. I hope you enjoy!
www.jenperkinspaintings.etsy.com I moved to Colorado! I remember driving through Colorado for the first time seven years ago and feeling a sense of home. It was a long winding path to get here, but I've finally put down roots here for the long term. I've spent most of my adult life drifting from one place to another, always just passing through for a bit (and having mind blowing experiences and countless adventures), but it feels good to find a place I want to stay long term. I'm also very excited as an artist to be surrounded by the landscapes that inspire my art! I've applied a few shows here in Colorado and met many amazing artists and creatives involved with the community here. The future is looking bright!
I'm having an art show, folks! I'll be one of three artists from Fibonacci Gallery featured this month in Trifecta! The show opening is May 12th from 5P.M. to 7P.M. Please stop by if you are in the area for refreshments, good company, and amazing artwork by three local artists!
Huge thank you to Fibonacci Gallery in Watertown, New York for hosting me as an artist. My work is now on display at the gallery. I'm very excited to be a part of a great artist community! The link to the gallery website is below:
Fibonacci Art Gallery 100 Court Street Watertown, New York 13601 Lots of thanks to the North Country Arts Council for hosting their 74th Annual Juried Art Show!10/29/2022 ![]() Friday night was the 74th Annual Juried Art Show with the North Country Arts Council. There were over 100 pieces from amazing local artists including painters, photographers, jewelry designers, sculptors, industrial artists, fabric artists, and other 2-D and 3-D work. I placed 1st in the Acrylic Painting category. As an emerging artist, I am grateful for the recognition of the hard work I've put into my artwork over the last year. I'm also grateful to have met and made connections with so many wonderful people involved in promoting the arts locally and within the state. North Country Arts Council Website This week I was featured in Shoutout Colorado, an online publication aimed at creating community through conversations about entrepreneurship and life events. This quote is from the "About Us" section of their website:
"We think meaningful conversations are at the heart of community building. We also think every voice matters and that these conversations shouldn’t be led by billionaires, media elites, or celebrities. We feel it’s far more relevant to hear from the folks who make up the fabric of our communities – small business owners, mom-and-pops, and independent artists and creatives." I am grateful to be featured in this publication as part of the artist and business community! Click here to read the article! In my transition from public school art teacher of ten years to working and traveling artist, I have finally got around to building my website! I hope to add more posts here as I continue to make progress and start a summer filled with en plein air painting (which I am not great at!) in Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, and Washington state. Currently in beautiful and spicy New Mexico which may have the most friendly people I've ever met. I do love it here and hope to be back for the winter. Stay tuned for updates!
